Characteristics of Jesus Christ

Jesus: The Lion of the Tribe of Judah – Just a Few Characteristics

  1. Spiritually Minded.  Alpha Omega and Rabboni of  spiritual mindfulness and was an example by how he focused on the Father and his mission. ( John 19:24) asks the Father to forgive the soldiers that were rolling dice in front of him to see who could win his bloody robe as a souvenir. Sadly while Jesus is staring down at the soldier’s game as he’s dying on the cross they just brutally nailed him to.
  2. Loyal to the Father. (Luke 22:42) “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.”
  3. Courageous. (see Matthew 26:53) He could have been delivered from the pain of the crucifixion, yet proceeded for the cause.
  4. Sober. He refused wine prior to Crucifixion. He wanted to be sober through the ordeal. He prayed his way through his suffering. (Luke 22:18 & Matthew 26:29) For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
  5. Frequently Withdrew to the Wilderness to Pray. (Luke 5:16 KJV). He knew when he needed solitude to spend time with God and rest.
  6. People questioned his sanity and scribes accused him in (Mark 3:22 KJV) of having Beelzebub or being demonized.
  7. Miraculous healer. (See John 9:6, John 5:8 and many more).
  8. Spiritual Authority. Cast demons out of people. (see Mark 5:1-20 and Luke 8:26-31 and many more….)
  9. Envied. Matthew 27:18 (KJV) For he knew that for envy they had delivered him.
  10. Rested. Jesus rested on the 7th day Sabbath but understood things happen, emergencies happen and he stood for “common sense.” (Luke 14:5 KJV).
  11. Not the author of shame of guilt. He didn’t shame sinners. (John 4:16-24 KJV) Gently allows people to be reminded of their sin and then states what the Father is recruiting for for his Kingdom.
  12. Peaceful and not moved by chaos. “Peace be Still, while others panicked.” (Mark 4:39 & Matthew 8:23-27).
  13. Resisted Satan and his demons successfully every time.
  14. Intelligent, common sense, practical and could communicate in ways people could understand.
  15. Communicator. Skilled, excellent and great story teller. Spoke in parables to provide a visual aid for people to retain and comprehend, also may have known if he didn’t speak in parables his teachings may not have been circulated in the Bible for thousands of years.
  16. He didn’t seem moved by the opinions or critical thoughts of others. In (Luke 7:39-50) Jesus communicated his reasoning to Simon, but he would not stop what he was doing to appease him.  Please see the Book of Luke, when Simon is not comfortable with Mary Magdalene washing his feet. He questions whether or not he’s truly a Prophet because he thinks Mary is sinner. Jesus doesn’t make Mary stop washing his feet to appease Simon, he merely states, “Simon I have something to say unto thee….” (Luke 7:40).  He also ate with sinners despite how it may have been perceived. (Mark 2:13-17).
  17. Questioned. As a twelve year old, he was smart and could hold conversions with educated men and showed us that even a child can ask good questions. You can infer that he was extremely intelligent even at twelve the scripture said the Doctors were astonished by his understanding and answers. (Luke 2:46-47 KJV).
  18. Spoke in parables because he was clever and understood if he didn’t his teachings would never make it into a Bible.
  19. Forgave. (Luke 7:47 KJV)
  20. Not arrogant or egotistical. (I like his debut on his Donkey.) (Matthew 21:5).
  21. Disciplined. 40 days and nights not eating or drinking. Sinless. (Matthew 4:2).
  22. He didn’t seem to do any labor besides healing or preaching. People fished, he would tell them where to throw the net. When he was with the woman at the well his disciples went to do the shopping. He would send others to prepare the Passover meal? Did he help his Father who was a Carpenter? Only two scriptures in the Bible that discuss Jesus as a child. The baby in the manger and when he loses his parents and is found in the synagogue conversing with doctors and asking them questions. (Luke 2:46 King James Version).
  23. Drew a fine line between the Kingdom of God and the World’s Government. He was upset when people were profiting off God in the marketplace (Matthew 21:12) and boldly had no issue expressing it. “ (Luke 20:25 KJV) And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s , and unto God the things which be God’s.”
  24. Bold.
  25. Merciful. He showed others mercy. He was the only human qualified to throw a stone at anyone and yet he refused to do it. He had a beautiful heart. (John 8:7) “So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
  26. Strategy. He was a strategic thinker. People often tried to trap him with the law and he would be able to rebuttal in a clear, practical way. Examples: Jesus refuses to stone a woman who committed adultery, healing on the sabbath, when accused having Beelzebub, accused of Blasphemy.
  27. Compassionate. Cried he saw others mourn. (John 11:35) “Jesus wept.”
  28. Not materialistic. Encourage working towards obtaining treasures in heaven as opposed to while on earth. (Matthew 6:19) Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
  29. Faithful. His belief and faith surpassed most human comprehension.
  30. Not controlling. Can you find one verse where Jesus is quoted telling people how to dress?
  31. Exemplifies Leadership. Doesn’t follow the elder’s with traditions like hand washing. He’s asked why he doesn’t make his disciples wash their hands? (Mark 7:5) Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands? (Matthew 15:2) Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.
